Black Hills Area
While in South Dakota, visit the Black Hills, considered the jewel of the state. Drive scenic Spearfish Canyon, or stop in historic Deadwood and try your luck at Vegas-style gambling. There are many beautiful caves to explore, or stop and see Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln at Mount Rushmore. Native buffalo can still be found roaming the hills of Custer State Park. Don’t forget to stop and tour the Mammoth Site before leaving beautiful Hot Springs.
Mitchell
One of Mitchell’s major attractions is the Corn Palace. This is a beautiful, unique building decorated with thousands of bushels of native varicolored corn, grain and grasses.
